Area Police
Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then found numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police report early analysis show the liquid was probably human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for details.
A high-ranking political figure stated the incident made him speechless and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This event affects the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman targeting residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
