From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
